Our Pastor

Jim Patterson

Ministry Role & Responsibility: I serve as the Lead Pastor of Life Connection Church. It is my responsibility to lead the church as I follow Christ. The purpose that God has set before us is the connect to God through worship, connect to each other through fellowship, and connect to the world through service. My passion is to equip the church body to be disciples and leaders that can help bring others to the salvation of Jesus Christ.

Family: I am married to my beautiful wife Sylvia. We have three amazing daughters: Tanya, Celeste, and Joanna. They married three great men of God and have given us eight grandchildren.

Member Of Life Connection Church Since: I’ve been a member of Life Connection Church since 2002.

On Staff Since: I’ve been Pastor of Life Connection Church since 2002.

Favorite Scripture: Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Fun Fact: I love “pickin’ and grinnin'” on the guitar.

Youth Pastor

Tanya Dement

Ministry Role & Responsibility: iCON Youth stands for “I Connect”; the name symbolizes our goal as a ministry to connect middle and high school students to God, each other, and to the world. As a youth group, we seek to connect students with Jesus in a way that is both enduring for their entire life and impactful during what can sometimes be tough teenage years; we seek to connect students with each other to support and encourage their faith; and we seek to connect students to the world by reaching out to other students, our families, and communities that may not know the gospel. My responsibility is to facilitate these connections through Bible studies, retreats, worship, and other opportunities for students to come together.

Family: I’ve been married to my husband, Jonathan, since 2002 and have three children, Isaac, Ava, and Sarah.

Member Of Life Connection Church Since: I’ve been a member of Life Connection Church since 2002.

On Staff Since: I’ve been leading our student ministry since 2007.

Favorite Scripture: Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Fun Fact: I enjoy working out, reading, board games, camping, and hanging out with family and friends.

Director of Women’s Ministries

Pastor Sylvia Patterson

Ministry Role & Responsibility: It is my deepest desire to connect women to God through prayer, Bible study, worship & discipleship. I want to see women awakened to their purpose and aware of the gifts God gave them. Connecting women of all ages to each other in pure friendship dropping their guard and gathering, enjoying and supporting each other is the beat of my heart. Women ministering, instead of being ministered to …. connecting to the world with great passion and intentional evangelism everywhere is the longing of my being.

We exist to:

  • Connect every woman to God
  • Cultivate Connection for every woman
  • Connect every woman to the world equipped for ministry

Family: I have been married to my handsome best friend, Jim for over 40 years. He inspires me and keeps me smiling every day. We have 3 beautiful daughters, 3 brilliant son-in-laws, 6 granddaughters, 2 grandsons … all serving God and keeping me on my toes and on my knees in prayer.

Member of Life Connection Church since: 2002

On Staff Since: 2002 having worked in various areas: Children’s Ministries, Administration, Van Ministry with Women’s Ministries since 2009

Favorite Scriptures: It changes but today it is:

Psalm 28:6,7 (MSG) Blessed be God—He heard me praying. He proved he’s on my side; I’ve thrown my lot in with him. Now I’m jumping for joy, and shouting and singing my thanks to him.

Romans 8:15-16 (MSG) This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children.

Fun Facts: I will ride any roller coaster, I did my 1st skydive in my 50’s, not afraid to get messy or look silly and am a bargain hunter to the extreme! Love hanging out with my grandkids. Christmas is my favorite season of the year.

Prayer Team Ministry

LaNetra Guess

Ministry Role & Responsibility: I have always had a passion to pray for others since committing my life to Jesus Christ in 1993. I’ve been involved with various churches and community prayer ministries since salvation. In January 2014, the Lord moved me to Texas. My excitement builds continually as I see the Lord changing lives. It’s a privilege and honor to be a praying vessel for the Lord.
There are over 25 altar prayer team members and countless other Life Connection Church members who stand in the gap and pray for others at the altar, through phone and emailed prayer requests, and throughout our community. Our prayer team has been involved with various community prayer endeavors: Pray the Rock Ministry, neighborhood prayer walks, Via Dolorosa, Round Rock Adopt-a-Cop prayer partners, Before the Call Goes Out Ministry, and many other community events.
If you have a prayer need, feel free to send the request to: pray@lifeconnectionrr.org. The Life Connection Church family would be honored to pray for your requests.

Family: Simba is my ‘baby,’ my very energetic, loving dog. Ha!

Member Of Life Connection Church Since: February 2014

On Staff Since: March 2015

Favorite Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV) – ‘Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.’

Fun Fact: I enjoy serving others through the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team. This is another great God opportunity to pray for others.
